crock pot teriyaki chicken

October 19, 2010

this was a last minute, throw-something-in-the-crockpot meal … and it turned out SUPER delish.

:: about 8 frozen chicken drumsticks

:: 1/2 c soy sauce

:: 1/2 c agave or honey

:: lots of minced garlic

:: a few shakes of powdered ginger

:: some sea salt

:: 1/2 chopped onion

this cooked on high in the crockpot about 4 hours … then i reduced to low for a couple more hours. i served this over brown rice with lots of the “sauce” and it was a hit.

    This is genius–I never thought to use Agave in place of honey! Since Lizzy can’t have honey yet, that would be an AWESOME way to still have those fun dishes!
