our homeschool restaurant =)

February 28, 2011

our homeschool co-op pulled off a totally incredible event last month! it was indescribably special … the process of spending months learning alongside other families, and working toward the goal of this RESTAURANT! we met every friday, and learned about a variety of subjects under the umbrella of healthy eating and serving.  our group of mama’s is so talented and each shared insight and information with our children, on subjects ranging from digestion, what scripture says about nutrition, whole foods, biblical servanthood, manners, budgeting, even cake decorating! our time spent together was rich and inspiring.

and the final event? *AWESOME*! it was one of those times that you feel that last minute scramble of planning (did we think of everything? do we have everything we need? ) and it ends up being beyond BEYOND what could have been expected. thank GOD.

each family invited special guests – family and friends – to be at their table. i think we had about 70 guests. we prepared food and the kids were the servers; taking orders, bringing food and blessing their guests. we ate, we laughed, we talked and the kids shared. it was truly a magical night.

(( hubby took many great pics but i can’t seem to find them on the computer. i will upload once they are found … ))

This sounds wonderful! I am going to see about putting something like this together for our group! My daughter wants to own a restaurant one day, so this is a great way to motivate her schooling 😀
Where did you hold the final event? a church?

      hi stephanie,
thanks for stopping by! yes, we held it at a restaurant … it was *very* affordable to rent for the evening, and it worked out beautifully.
      blessings to you!
